Scan Tool Connecting

Always observe the instructions in the Tech-1 Operator's Manual.

1. Make sure the vehicle ignition is OFF.
2a. On Trooper II (KT) and Rodeo models, use Kent-Moore 2-plug adapter J-38770-5 to connect the Tech-1 to the black 2-pin and white 3-pin TCM diagnostic connectors, located behind the left side of the instrument panel, above the kick panel.
2b. On Trooper (UX) models, use Kent-Moore 3-pin adapter TA02279B to connect the Tech-1 cable to the green 3-pin TCM diagnostic connector, located behind the left center of the instrument panel.
3. Use Kent-Moore battery adapter cable TA-1269 to connect the Tech-1 directly to the battery, which will prevent loss of power when the ignition is cycled on and off during the diagnosis test.
