Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Check the engine against the following, and repair or replace as required.

1. Inspecting fuel system
1) Make sure the fuel hose clips are tight and no fuel is leaking.
2) Check the fuel pipes and fuel hoses for corrosion, damage, cracks, etc.
3) Make sure the fuel hoses are not collapsed, fuel filter is not clogged and fuel piping is normal.
4) Make sure no water is present in the fuel tank, fuel filter and other parts of the fuel system.
5) Make sure unleaded gasoline is used in the fuel system.

2. Inspecting air intake system
1) Make sure no air is drawn in from the air duct and connecting hose joints.
2) Make sure no air is drawn in from the intake manifold joint.
3) Make sure no air is drawn in from the EGR valve fitting area.
4) Make sure vacuum hoses (Fuel pressure control, EGR and EVAP canister) are connected correctly, and not damaged or collapsed.
5) Make sure the PCV hose is connected correctly, and not collapsed or damaged.
6) Make sure the oil filler cap is installed correctly.
7) Make sure the oil level gauge is installed correctly.

3. Inspecting electrical system
1) Make sure the cable harnesses for the closed loop emission control system are connected properly.
2) Make sure the connecting terminals and connectors are free from corrosion.
3) Make sure the ECM harnesses are routed properly and are at least 100 mm from high-tension and other cables.
