Power Locks: Description and Operation

Fuse C-18 applies battery voltage at all times to the door lock control unit (in left front door lock switch). If either of the front door lock key switches is turned once, only that door will be unlocked. If either of the front door lock key switches is turned twice (within 3 seconds) it sends a signal to the control unit to unlock all the doors. Locking or unlocking the doors with either door lock switch also locks or unlocks all the doors. The control unit locks or unlocks the doors by applying battery voltage and providing a ground to the door lock actuators in one direction to lock the doors and in the opposite direction to unlock the doors.
