1999 RODEO (UE) A/T LEV: ERRATIC/UNSTABLE IDLE

AFFECTED VEHICLES

1999 Rodeo (UE) CA, A/T, Light Emissions Vehicle (LEV) models with V6 engine.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:

Some owners may comment on erratic/unstable idle at start-up.

Correction:

The affected vehicle may require an updated PCM calibration.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Follow the Driveability/Emissions Manual troubleshooting procedure (for the year and model vehicle you are repairing). Correct any faults found before continuing with this procedure.

2. Using the TECH 2 scan tool to read the current PCM calibration Part Number and Broadcast Code, record the current calibration. Refer to the ITCS for the updated Evaporative calibration.

3. Refer to Chart A to Download new software into PCM to change diagnostic calibration.
