Removal and Installation

REMOVAL



1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Place a drain pan below the pump.



3. Remove the air cleaner duct (1) and the radiator upper hose (2).
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Remove the pulley from the power steering pump.
6. Disconnect the suction hose.
7. Disconnect the flexible hose.
8. Remove the power steering pump fixing bolt.
9. Remove the pump assembly.

CAUTION: When removing the pump assembly, be careful not to damage the wiring harness under the pump housing.

INSTALLATION

With Torque Specifications:




1. Install the adjust plate and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 56 Nm (41 ft. lbs.)

2. Install the pump assembly. Connect the harness under the pump housing.
3. Tighten the fixing bolt to the specified torque.
Torque: 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.)

4. Connect the flexible hose, then tighten the eye bolt to specified torque.
Torque: 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)

5. Connect the suction hose.
6. Install the pulley onto the power steering pump and tighten the nut to the specified torque.
Torque: 78 Nm (58 ft. lbs.)

7. Install the drive belt.
8. Install the air cleaner duct and the radiator upper hose.
9. Refill the engine coolant.
10. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
