Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise the vehicle and support with suitable safety stands.
3. Remove torsion bar (4). Refer to Steering and Suspension.
4. Remove transfer under cover (1).
5. Remove 3rd crossmember (2).
6. Remove front propeller shaft (3).
7. Disconnect front Heated Oxygen (02) sensor harness connectors (5).
8. Remove front exhaust pipe fixing nuts (8).
9. Remove three stud nuts (7) from exhaust manifold then remove the exhaust front pipe (6).

Installation
To install, follow the removal steps in the reverse order, noting the following points:
1. Install front exhaust pipe (6) and tighten three stud nuts (7) and two nuts (8) to the specified torque.
Torque
Stud nuts: 67 Nm (49 ft. lbs.)
Nuts: 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.)
1. Reconnect 02 sensor harness connector (5).
2. Install front propeller shaft (3) and tighten Bolts to the specified torque.
Torque
Bolts: 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
1. Install 3rd crossmember (2) and tighten Bolts to the specified torque.
Torque
Bolts: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
1. Install transfer under cover (1) and tighten Bolts to the specified torque.
Torque
Bolts: 46 Nm (34 ft. lbs.)
1. Install the torsion bar (4) and readjust the vehicle height. Refer to the installation and vehicle height adjustment instructions in Steering and Suspension.
