Tailgate Hinge: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the endgate. Refer to Endgate Replacement.
2. Remove the bolts that retain the pickup box endgate hinges to the endgate.




3. Remove the pickup box endgate hinges from the endgate.
4. Remove the bolts that retain the pickup box endgate hinges to the pickup box.
5. Remove the pickup box endgate hinges from the pickup box.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the pickup box endgate hinges to the pickup box.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.




2. Install the bolts that retain the pickup box endgate hinges to the pickup box.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the pickup box endgate hinges to the endgate.
4. Install the bolts that retain the pickup box endgate hinges to the endgate.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the endgate. Refer to Endgate Replacement.
