Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
3. Remove the radiator. Refer to radiator replacement in Engine Cooling.
4. Remove the compressor and condenser hose assembly from the condenser. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement (2.2L).
5. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser. Refer to Evaporator Tube Replacement.
6. Remove the insulator retainer bolts and the upper insulator retainers.
7. Remove the condenser.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the condenser.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener note in Cautions and notes.
2. Install the upper insulator retainers and the insulator retainer bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2.4 N.m (21 lb in).
3. Install the evaporator tube to the condenser.
4. Install the compressor and condenser hose assembly to the condenser. Refer to Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement (2.2L).
5. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement in Engine Cooling.
6. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
7. Add refrigerant to the system.
8. Inspect the system for leaks.
