Shift Interlock: Description and Operation

With the ignition switch in the ON or START position, power is applied through the shift lock relay to the shift lock solenoid by the CB-11 METER fuse. When the brake switch is depressed, the relay is energized through the CB-6 STOP LIGHT fuse with the shift lever in the PARK position. The contacts are then opened, de-energizing the solenoid so that the shift lever can be moved to another position.
