Fuel Filter: Description and Operation

This vehicle is equipped with two fuel filters, an in-tank filter and an in-line filter.

In-Tank Fuel Filter
The fuel filter is located on the lower end of the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank. The fuel filter prevents dirt and water from entering the fuel system not unless the fuel filter is completely submerged in water. The fuel filter is maintenance free, requiring no maintenance. Excess water and sediment restricts fuel supply to the engine resulting in engine stall. If this happens, the fuel tank would need to be cleaned thoroughly.
