A/T - 2nd to 3rd Gear Shift Flare

AXIOM 2nd TO 3rd AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT FLARE

SERVICE INFORMATION

Condition:
Some customers may comment on transmission shift flare, transmission slip, or erratic shift during transmission 2nd to 3rd up shift.

Possible Cause:
PCM Calibration may affect 2nd to 3rd up shift performance.

Correction:
Updated PCM Calibration.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Park and secure the vehicle.

2. Connect the PowerLink DLC cable adapter to the vehicle DLC Port.

NOTE:
The installation instructions are the same as the previous versions.

3. Click on the ITCS icon on the desktop.

4. Insert the PowerLink Version 4 CD or later for the appropriate model.

NOTE:
ITCS CD # 23 also contains the new calibrations for Tech 2 update.





5. Click on the Isuzu PowerLink Diagnostics button. (Figure 1)





6. Diagnose any Current DTCs and History DTCs (if any). (Figure 2)

IMPORTANT:
Any Current DTCs and History DTCs must first be diagnosed prior to PCM reprogramming.





7. If no codes are stored and an updated calibration is available, then click the Calibrate button. (Figure 3)

NOTE:
The Calibrate button is only accessible if all codes have been resolved.








8. Click on your calibration selection. (Figures 4 and 5)





9. Click the Program button to begin the reprogramming event. (Figure 6)

IMPORTANT:
Verify that the calibration selected is correct before selecting the Program button.





10. The status bar indicates that the PCM is uploading the new calibration. (Figure 7)





11. Vehicle calibration is complete. (Figure 8)
