Assist Step Support Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the bolts that retain the assist step support brackets to the body.
2. Remove the assist step assembly from the vehicle.
3. Place the step assembly on a clean, prepared surface.




4. Remove the nuts (1) that retain the assist step to the support brackets.
5. Remove the support brackets from the assist step.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the assist step to the support brackets.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the nuts (1) that retain the assist step to the support brackets.

Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




2. Position the assist step assembly to the vehicle.
3. Install the bolts that retain the support brackets to the body.

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
