TITLE: Cruise Control Disengages After Accelerating

APPLIES TO: 03-04 Ascender 4.2L

Complaint:

Customer may advise of one or all of the following concerns related to cruise control:
1. Cruise control disengages after accelerating above the set speed for more than 60 seconds.
2. Cruise control disengages if vehicle speed is increased by 50 mph or more than set speed (no time parameter).
3. Cruise control disengages if accelerated at Wide Open Throttle.

Correction:

All of these are normal design operation features and can be demonstrated on other 2003 2004, 4.2L engine equipped Ascenders.

The cruise control section in the vehicles owner's manual does NOT cover this info.

Note: This info does not apply to 2003 and 2004, 5.3L V8 equipped Ascenders.
