Unable to Reset Engine Oil Life Monitor

Affected Vehicles

2004 Ascender (US) models equipped with 5.3L engine (VIN P).

Service Information

Condition:
Some owners may comment that they are unable to reset the Engine Oil Life Monitor.

Correction:
Reprogram the PCM.

Service Procedure

Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with a new service calibration released with ITCS CD version 33 or newer. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in the Service Manual. As always, make sure your TECH2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
