Tire Monitoring System: Service and Repair
TIRE CODEThe tire code protects the TCU against unauthorized programming and data access from Tech 2. The tire code consists of a 6 digit code number and is programmed into the TCU.
New control units are not programmed with a tire code. If the control units are replaced, the tire code entered in the TCU.
Must be programmed into the new control unit with Tech 2 and Transponder (J 46079).
The tire code can only be programmed with Tech 2 and Transponder (J 46079).
Once programmed, the tire code can be over written. An already used tire with TPMS can be reused in a different position by initializing the TPMS. After that you can program the tire code again. For initializing command you need the current tire code.
If the TCU is returned, always enclosed the tire code that is allocated to that control unit. If this is not done, we can not process the repair and the warranty will not be recognized. Follow the tire pressure sensor location below.
