Crankshaft Balancer Installation

Tools Required
^ J 45059 Angle Meter
^ J 41478 Crankshaft Balancer Installer





1. Install the crankshaft balancer using J 41478.
2. Remove J 41478.
3. Hold the flywheel or back of the crankshaft. The crankshaft balancer does not have a keyway so the crankshaft could turn when tightening, causing an improper torque.





4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the crankshaft balancer washer and new bolt.
1 Tighten the new crankshaft balancer bolt while holding the back to 150 Nm (110 ft. lbs.).
2 Use J 45059 to tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 180 degrees.
