Engine Flywheel Replacement (MA5)

Tools Required
J 45059 Angle Meter

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the clutch assembly.





2. Remove the flywheel bolts.Discard the bolts.
3. Remove the flywheel.
4. Clean and inspect the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Cleaning and Inspection (Automatic Transmission) Engine Flywheel Cleaning and Inspection (Manual Transmission).

Installation Procedure





1. Position the flywheel to the crankshaft

2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the new flywheel bolts.
1 Tighten the flywheel bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
2 Use the J 45059 to rotate the flywheel bolts an additional 50 degrees.
3. Install the clutch assembly.
