Installation

EGR Valve and EGR Cooler

Installation
1. Mount the EGR valve.
- Insert the gasket and temporarily fit the EGR valve.
2. Mount the EGR cooler duct (2nd-EGR valve).
- Insert the gasket and temporarily fit the EGR cooler duct.
3. Mount the EGR cooler 2nd.
- Insert the gasket and temporarily fit the EGR cooler 2nd.
4. Mount the EGR cooler 1st and the EGR cooler duct (1st-2nd).
- Insert the gasket and temporarily fit the EGR cooler and the EGR cooler duct.
5. Mount the EGR cooler duct (EXH).
- Insert the gasket between the two ends of the EGR cooler duct.
- Temporarily tighten the bolts.
6. After temporary assembly, tighten the nuts and bolts to the specified torque in the order shown in the illustration.







7. Connect the water hoses.
8. Install the EGR cooler duct heat protector(3).

Tightening torque: 10 N.m (87 lb.in)

9. Connect the EGR cooler IN temperature sensor connector (2).







10. Connect the EGR valve harness connector.
11. Install the A/C compressor.
- Install the A/C compressor to the bracket.
- Connect the harness connector of the A/C compressor.







12. Install the A/C compressor drive belt.
- Refer to 'Drive Belt' in COOLING SYSTEM section for adjusting the belt tension.
13. Replenish the engine cooling water.
- Refer to 'Reference (cooling water replenishment procedure)' of 'Cooling System' in COOLING SYSTEM section.
