KEYPOINTS: LABEL/PLATE REPLACEMENT
All Jaguar vehicles incorporate VIN and Certification labels/ plates that occasionally require replacement due to accident damage, vehicle repainting, theft, etc. These labels/plates include the following:
^ VIN Plate - located either on the A-pillar adjacent to the windshield or in the panel just below the windshield on the drivers side.
^ Safety Certification Label - located on the lower portion of the drivers door B-pillar (sedans), and the drivers door shutface (XJ-S).
^ Underhood Emission Certification and Tune Up Label - located in the engine compartment (sedans), and the underside of the hood (XJ-S).
All requests for replacement plates or labels (imprinted with a vehicle serial number) must be made through Jaguar Cars Inc. (attention Product Compliance) via Wizard Mail or facsimile, number 201-818-0283.
The following information is required to obtain labels:
^ Full 17 Digit Vehicle Identification Number
^ Reason for Replacement:
- accident damage
- repaint
- manufacturing error (plate or label must be returned)
- recovered stolen vehicle (a copy of the police report must be submitted to JCI).
^ Dealer name and number
NOTE: Return all removed VIN plate to JCI, attention Product Compliance.
