INTERIOR DOOR LIGHT SWITCH LUBRICATION
KEY POINTS:
DAMAGE TO DOOR LIGHT
SWITCHES BY AEROSOL PROPELLANT
Occasional squeaking of the interior light door switch is caused by a side load on the switch plunger when contacting the striker plate.
To eliminate any possible squeak, a light application of grease on the striker plate only is permitted. Open circuit conditions in door switches have been traced to aerosol releasing lubricants contaminating the switch contacts. Aerosol spray lubricants must not be used to lubricate door switches.
