Idle Up Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

Supplementary Air Valve:

1. Remove right hand air filter cover and element.
2. Locate end of supplementary air valve protruding through air filter backing plate.
3. Be sure A/C is OFF. Start engine.
4. Supplementary air valve orifice should have no vacuum.
5. Turn A/C ON. Valve should have vacuum.
6. If no vacuum, check for battery voltage at green/white lead.
7. If no voltage, check the circuit.
8. If voltage, check black wire for ground.
9. If black wire grounds, replace valve.
