Distributor: Description and Operation
Distributor:
The distributor acts as a rotary switch, distributing firing voltage to spark plugs in proper firing order. It incorporates centrifugal and vacuum ignition timing advance units, reluctor and pick-up module. The reluctor is a gear-like component, with one tooth per cylinder, and is mounted on the distributor shaft. The distributor is driven by a jackshaft and is located in vee of engine.
