Distributor: Service and Repair

1. Remove nuts securing air cleaner to inner fender panel, release clips securing air cleaner to air mass meter, and remove air cleaner. This will allow access to TDC indicator.

Distributor:

2. Release clips securing distributor cap to distributor housing and position cap aside.
3. Lift car and turn engine to TDC, #1 cylinder.

Distributor Alignment:

4. Mark position of rotor arm to distributor housing (felt tip pen, magic marker, etc). Also mark distributor housing to block.
5. Loosen distributor clamp bolt and remove distributor.
6. Reverse steps to refit.

NOTE: The center of the ignition rotor tip should be aligned with #1 electrode in distributor cap when distributor is in place.
