Superheat Switch: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT
1. Open the bonnet and disconnect the battery earth lead.
2. Depressurize the air conditioning system.





3. Remove the bolt securing the muffler plate to the compressor (1). Tightening torque 32-37 Nm (23.6-27.2 ft lb).
4. Remove the bolt securing the muffler body assembly to the compressor (2). Tightening torque 40-50 Nm (29.5-36.8 ft lb).
5. Remove and discard the "0" ring seals.
6. Fit protective caps to the compressor and hoses.
7. Disconnect the superheat switch cable connector (3).
8. With suitable circlip pliers remove the circlip retaining the superheat switch and remove the switch.

NOTE:
- When installing, fit new "0" ring seals and receiver/dryer.
- Ensure all hose union nuts are tightened to the correct torque.

9. Evacuate and recharge the system.
