Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in FUEL SYSTEMS / SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, when working on open fuel systems.
Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fuelling component.

Fuel Filter:

1. Depressurize fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Lift car and place suitable container under fuel filter.
4. Remove filter feed hose banjo bolt and fit protective plugs to hose and filter.
5. Disconnect fuel pump filter hose union nut at filter and reposition hose away from filter.
6. Fit protective plugs to hose and filter.
7. Loosen filter mounting clamp bolt and remove filter.
8. Remove adaptor piece for fuel pump hose.
9. Remove filter front plastic cover.
10. Remove foam pad from filter.
11. Fit new filter and reverse steps to install.
12. Tighten:

hose adaptor 20-23 Nm
banjo bolt 20-25 Nm
hose union nut 34-36 Nm

13. Check for leaks.
