Instrument Panel Housing, Renew

INSTRUMENT HOUSING

RENEW

Removal procedure:

Disconnect the battery earth lead.
Remove driver's side dash liner. Service and Repair
Remove the driver's side dash liner armature for access (Federal Vehicles only).
Remove the instrument housing to fascia securing screws.
Reposition the steering wheel to its lowest tilt position.
Displace and reposition the instrument housing to gain access to the harness multi-plugs.
Disconnect the harness multi-plugs from the back of the instrument panel.

Remove the instrument housing / panel assembly.

For renewal of the instrument panel or housing:




Remove the instrument panel to housing securing screws / nuts.
Remove the housing from the instrument panel.
Renew the necessary parts.
Fit and align the housing to the instrument panel.
Fit and tighten the instrument panel to housing securing screws / nuts.

Refitting procedure:

Fit and align the instrument panel to the housing.
Fit and tighten the instrument panel to housing securing screws / nuts.
Place the housing/panel assembly to the fascia to allow reconnection of the harness multi-plugs.
Reconnect the harness multi-plugs to the instrument panel assembly.
Reposition the instrument housing / panel assembly to the fascia.
Fit and tighten the instrument housing to fascia securing screws.
Refit the driver's side dashliner armature (Federal Vehicles only).
Refit the driver's side dash liner.
Reconnect the battery earth lead.

Note: On re-connection of the battery, it is important that the ignition is cycled and the bulb check is completed. The odometer reading will then be restored to the correct value.
