P0111
O : P0111, P0112, P0113. IAT SENSOR.
O1 : CHECK THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR RESISTANCE
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector PI14.
3. Measure the resistance between pins 4 and 5 of the MAF sensor.
Is the resistance 2450 ohms at 20 degrees C?
Yes
Goto O2
No
Install a new MAF sensor. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
O2 : CHECK CONTINUITY OF THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector PI14.
3. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector PI01.
4. Measure the resistance between the MAF sensor electrical connector PI14, pin 4 (U) and the PCM electrical connector PI01, pin 71 (U).
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Goto O3
No
Repair the circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
O3 : CHECK CONTINUITY OF THE IAT SENSOR CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the MAF sensor electrical connector PI14, pin 5 (BG) and the PCM electrical connector PI01, pin 19 (BG).
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Goto O4
No
Repair the circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
O4 : CHECK THE IAT SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the MAF sensor electrical connector PI14, pin 4 (U) and GROUND.
Is the resistance less than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
Repair the short to GROUND. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Goto O5
O5 : CHECK THE IAT SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO BATTERY
1. Connect the PCM electrical connector, PI01.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Check for voltage at PI14, pin 5 (BG)
Is the voltage greater than 1 volt?
Yes
Repair the short circuit. For additional information, refer to the wiring diagrams. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
Install a new MAF sensor. CLEAR DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. If the DTC is repeated, INSTALL a new PCM.
