Pinpoint Test F


F: 1285-Booster solenoid output circuit failure

F1: CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE BOOSTER SOLENOID RELEASE SWITCH CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the brake booster solenoid electrical connector FH56 and ABS/DSC control module electrical connector FH103.
2. Measure the resistance between the brake booster solenoid electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector:
^ FH56 pin 1, (white/green) and FH103 pin 27, (white/green)
^ FH56 pin 2, (gray/orange) and FH103 pin 30, (gray/orange)
^ FH56 pin 5, (brown/green) and FH103 pin 28, (brown/green)
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohms?
-> Yes
Go to [F2]
-> No
REPAIR the necessary circuit between the brake booster solenoid release switch electrical connector pin and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector pin. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

F2: CHECK THE BOOSTER SOLENOID RELEASE SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the brake booster solenoid release switch electrical connector:
^ FH56 pin 1, (white/green) and GROUND FH103 pin 47, (brown).
^ FH56 pin 2, (gray/orange) and GROUND FH103 pin 47, (brown).
^ FH56 pin 5, (brown/green) and FH103 pin 28, (brown/green)
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the necessary circuit between the brake booster solenoid release switch electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector pin. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
Go to [F3]

F3: CHECK THE BOOSTER SOLENOID OUTPUT CIRCUITS
1. Measure the resistance between pin 3, (brown/red), and pin 4, (white/red) of the brake booster solenoid.
^ Is the resistance between 1 and 2 ohms?
-> Yes
Go to [F4]
-> No
INSTALL a new brake booster. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

F4: CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER SOLENOID CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the brake booster solenoid electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector:
^ FH56 pin 3, (brown/red) and FH103 pin 31, (brown/red)
^ FH56 pin 4, (white/red) and FH103 pin 17, (white/red)
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohms?
-> Yes
Go to [F5]
-> No
REPAIR the necessary circuit between the brake booster solenoid release switch electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector pin. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.

F5: CHECK THE BRAKE BOOSTER SOLENOID CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Measure the resistance between the brake booster solenoid electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector:
^ FH56 pin 3, (brown/red) and FH103 pin 47, (brown)
^ FH56 pin 4, (white/red) and FH103 pin 47, (brown)
^ Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohms?
-> Yes
REPAIR the necessary circuit between the brake booster solenoid release switch electrical connector and the ABS/DSC control module electrical connector pin. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> No
INSTALL a new ABS/DSC module. CLEAR DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
