Wheel Hub: Service and Repair

Wheel Hub (64.15.14)

Special Service Tools:

Removal

All vehicles
1. Remove the rear brake disc.

Vehicles with 2.5L or 3.0L engine
1. Remove and discard the rear halfshaft retaining nut.





2. Remove the wheel hub retaining bolts.





3. Using the special tools, remove the wheel hub.





Vehicles with 2.0L engine

1. CAUTION: Failure to follow this procedure may result in damage to the anti-lock brake system (ABS) components.

Disconnect the anti-lock brake system (ABS) sensor electrical connector.





2. Remove the wheel hub.
Remove the retaining bolts.





3. Remove the (ABS) sensor.
Remove the retaining bolt.





Installation

All vehicles
1. Install the wheel hub.
Tighten to 63 Nm.





Vehicles with 2.5L or 3.0L engine
1. Install a new rear halfshaft retaining nut.
Tighten to 270 Nm.





Vehicles with 2.0L engine
1. Install the (ABS) sensor.
Tighten to 7 Nm.





2. Reconnect the (ABS) sensor electrical connector.





All vehicles
1. Install the rear brake disc.
