Condenser HVAC: Locations



Condenser Core

All vehicles
1. Carry out the air conditioning (A/C) system recovery procedure.
2. Remove the radiator grille opening panel







3. Remove the radiator support bracket.
- Remove the bolts.







4. Disconnect the upper refrigerant pipe.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Cap the exposed port.

5. Raise the vehicle.
6. Remove the radiator splash shield.







7. Remove the radiator lower cowl.







8. Disconnect the lower refrigerant pipe.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Cap the exposed port.

NOTE: The pipe may leak oil.

Vehicles with supercharger







1. Remove the cooling module retaining bolts.
- Secure the supercharger cooling radiator and engine oil cooler using suitable retaining straps.

NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.

Vehicles without supercharger







1. Detach the power steering oil cooler.
- Secure the PAS cooler using suitable retaining straps.

NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.







2. Remove the condenser core retaining studs.

NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.

All vehicles







1. Remove the condensor core.

CAUTION: Make sure damage does not occur to the cooling components.

Installation

All vehicles
1. Add the correct amount of A/C refrigerant oil to the A/C Condenser.







2. Install the condensor core.


CAUTION: Make sure damage does not occur to the cooling components.







3. Locate the condenser in the upper fixing.

NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar

Vehicles with supercharger







1. Install the cooling module retaining bolts.
- Tighten to 8 Nm.

NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.

Vehicles without supercharger







1. Install the condenser core retaining studs.
- Tighten to 7 Nm.







NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.

2. Attach the power steering oil cooler.
- Tighten to 7 Nm.

NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.

All vehicles
1. Install new O-ring seals to the condenser core supply and return lines.
- Lubricate O-ring seals with A/C refrigerant oil.







2. Connect the lower refrigerant pipe.
- Tighten to 8 Nm.

NOTE: Un-cap the port.

3. Clean off any oil residue that may contain A/C system fluorescent dye.







4. Install the radiator lower cowl.
5. Install the radiator splash shield.
6. Lower the vehicle.







7. Connect the upper refrigerant pipe.
- Tighten to 8 Nm.

NOTE: Un-cap the port.

8. Clean off any oil residue that may contain A/C system fluorescent dye.







9. Install the radiator support bracket.
- Tighten to 9 Nm.

10. Carry out the air conditioning (A/C) system evacuation and charging procedure.
11. Carry out the A/C system fluorescent dye leak detection procedure.
12. Refit the radiator grille opening panel.
