Window Regulator 'Squeak' Noise During Operation

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation: A 'squeak' noise may be evident from any door during operation of door glass (up and/or down).

Cause: This may be caused by the grease procedure on the cable pulleys.

Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:

1. Remove the appropriate door casing (TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-05).

2. Cycle the window regulator up and down five (5) times to verify the origin of the suspected noise.





3. Using a suitable tool, stop the movement of the window regulator pulley(s) in turn to verify the origin of the noise.

^ If the pulley wheel is held stationary and the noise continues, then the noise is not originated by the axial of the pulley(s).

^ If the pulley wheel is held stationary and there is no longer a noise, release the pulley wheel and if the noise returns lubricate the axial of the pulley wheel.





4. The noise can be eliminated by spraying the Nyogel 774L between the pulley and the pulley bracket.





5. Apply the Nyogel 774L in the main axial of the pulley between the rail.





6. Apply the Nyogel 774L in the main axial of the pulley between the rail, the pulley bracket, and the pulley.

7. Cycle the window regulator up and down five (5) times to verify the noise has been eliminated.

8. Install the door casing (TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-05).
