This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing components, ensure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.

WARNING: The spilling of fuel is unavoidable during this operation. Make sure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and explosion.
CAUTION: Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.

With assistance remove the component.

Torque to: 35 Nm
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
Torque to: 7 Nm

Note the position of the locating tang.

Special Service Tool
Locking Ring, Fuel Tank, 310-123
CAUTION: A new O-ring seal is to be installed.
CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the fuel tank level sensor float and arm.
Installation
CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the fuel tank level sensor float and arm.
CAUTION: Make sure that the fuel pump and sender unit are correctly installed on to the retaining bayonet bracket in the fuel tank.
CAUTION: Make sure the fuel tank level sensor arm moves from the full, to the empty position freely and all the pipes are clear of it's path.
NOTE:
Make sure the locating tang is installed in the correct position.
NOTE:
Remove and discard all blanking caps.
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
