Update Prior to Sale: Touch-Screen Display Enhancement

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

In order to ensure that 2012 model year XJ vehicles are supplied with the very latest parts to enhance the owner's experience of these vehicles, vehicles within the above VIN range require a new Audio and Climate Control Assembly and software update, prior to vehicle handover to the owner, to enhance the usability of the Audio / Climate Control / Navigation Touch-Screen Display (TSD).

Action:

Dealers are required to HOLD the affected vehicles within your control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin. For vehicles in dealer inventory, this UPS should be performed after the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) has been completed and prior to final preparation / customer handover. For those vehicles already in the hands of customers, this should be done at the next available service visit.
