Valve Body Solenoids

REMOVAL

1. Drain transmission fluid, remove oil pan and filter.
2. Disconnect solenoid wire connector, and mark or tag connectors if more than one solenoid is being removed.
3. Remove bolt attaching solenoids to valve body, then the solenoids. Use caution not to loose any valve body components when solenoids are removed.
4. Clean oil filter and pan with solvent and air dry.
5. To test the solenoid, connect an ohmmeter between solenoid mounting bracket and solenoid wiring terminal, Fig. 5.
6. If ohmmeter does not show resistance between 11-15 ohms, replace solenoid.

INSTALLATION

1. Position solenoids on valve body and install retaining bolts. Torque to specifications.
2. Connect feed wires to solenoids, install new gasket on oil screen, and install screen retaining bolts. Torque bolts to specifications.
3. Install pan and add fluid.
