Starter Relay: Testing and Inspection

1. Locate and remove starter relay from power distribution center.

2. Using a suitable ohmmeter check circuit through relay terminals 85 and 86 Resistance should be 70-80 ohms.
3. Connect ohmmeter to terminals 30 and 87, resistance should be infinite.
4. With ohmmeter still connected to terminals 30 and 87, apply 12 volts to terminal 85 and ground terminal 86.
5. Resistance reading through terminals 30 and 87 should be zero.
6. If relay fails any of above tests, replace relay.
