DEALER SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
Safety Recall # 757-- Spare Tire

^ This service requirement applies only to 1996 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) vehicles equipped with a Quadra-Trac 4WD transfer case (sales code -- DHR) and a compact spare tire.

^ Installing the compact spare tire in either a front or rear position on the above listed vehicles, may cause front axle damage and/or a vehicle fire. To correct this condition, the compact spare tire must be replaced with a full size (conventional) spare tire and wheel assembly.

Parts Packages:

^ Three (3) unique part packages are required for this recall depending upon the color of the vehicle's interior. Each involved dealer, to whom vehicles in the recall were invoiced, will receive enough Full Size Spare Tire Packages to service about 25% of those vehicles.

Dealers should determine which parts package is required for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the correct parts package is available when the customer arrives. Refer to the Parts section for details.
