Service Procedure

1. Remove and discard the compact spare tire cover.

2. Remove and discard the compact spare tire and wheel assembly. Save the retention cup and the wing nut for later reuse.

3. Remove and discard the spare tire mounting bolt.





4. Install the provided spare tire mounting bolt (Figure 1).

5. Install the provided full size spare tire cover over the new spare tire and wheel assembly.

NOTE:
The full size tire and wheel assembly has already been balanced. Check and adjust the tire pressure to the specification noted on the vehicle certification label.

6. Install the provided full size spare tire and wheel assembly using the original retention cup and wing nut.

7. Remove the cargo cover from the vehicle and place it on a clean flat work surface.

8. Remove the end cap from the steel tube end that is closest to the spare tire in the vehicle.

9. Remove the two (2) cargo cover hooks and pull handle.

10. Remove the steel tube from the cargo cover. Do not remove the end cap furthest from the spare tire location.

11. Using a tube cutter or hacksaw, remove 3-1/2" from the uncapped end of the steel tube. File down any burrs on the tube.

12. Roll out the cover on a flat surface.





13. Mark the cover as shown in Figure 2.

14. Using a sharp razor knife and a straight edge, cut the cover along the line. Discard the cut-off portion.

15. Place a drop of super glue such as Mopar PN 4467709 or equivalent, on the threads of the cargo cover (steel tube end) to keep any loose threads from unraveling (Figure 2).

16. Reinstall the steel tube into the cover.

17. Reinstall the two (2) hooks and the pull handle.

18. Install the end cap on the steel tube.

19. Reinstall the cargo cover into the vehicle.
