B156B-SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA CIRCUIT

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on and the Satellite Radio in seek mode.

- Set Condition:
When the radio is in seek mode and detects a shorted or open antenna circuit for over five ms., this code will set.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, erase all Satellite Radio DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition and radio on.
4. Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for 2 loops around the band cycle.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool display active: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

NOTE: In order to perform this test, you must secure a Known Good Satellite Antenna.
TEST RADIO
1. With the scan tool, record the DTCs.
2. Erase the DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Radio.
5. Install a Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna at the back of the Radio.
6. Turn the ignition and radio on.
7. Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for 2 loops around the band cycle.
8. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit as Active?

Yes

- Replace the Satellite Radio.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. ANTENNA CABLE
1. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna
4. Re-connect the vehicle Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Radio.
5. Disconnect the Satellite Radio Antenna connector at the Antenna and install the Known Good Satellite Radio Antenna.
6. Turn the ignition and the radio on.
7. Put the satellite radio in seek up mode for two loops around the band cycle.
8. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B156B-Satellite Radio Antenna Circuit as Active?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Replace the Satellite Radio Antenna Cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA CABLE
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Locate the intermediate Satellite Radio Antenna connector.
3. Disconnect and inspect the intermediate Satellite Radio Antenna connector.

Was the connector clean and secure?

No

- Clean and secure the Satellite Radio Antenna intermediate connector.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

Yes

- Replace the Satellite Radio Antenna Cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
