Information
The Sensor Check and Control Unit Check diagnostic procedure, on pages 42 and 43 of Supplement No. 1 to the 1982 AMC Technical Service Manual, are incorrect. Steps 2, 4 and 6 of this procedure have been revised to show the correct ohmmeter and voltmeter test probe test points required with the engine compartment wire harness connectors used in 1983 models.
Make a note of the revision on the pages listed above and refer to this I.S. Note when checking the sensor and control unit.
NOTE: The revised procedure outtined in this I.S. Note can also be used to check the sensor and control unit on 1983 AMC four-cylinder 150 CID engines.
