Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

Ignition Control Module:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal before removing electronic components.
2. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is mounted underneath the instrument panel between the steering column and heater A/C housing. The ECU is mounted to a bracket by three screws.
3. Remove the three ECU mounting screws and lower the ECU.
4. Disconnect the ECU wiring harness. Remove ECU.

INSTALLATION

1. Connect ECU wire harness to ECU.
2. Position ECU under instrument panel in correct location and install mounting screws.
3. Connect negative battery terminal and test operation.
