Introduction

DRB-II TEST FUNCTIONS

In order to perform the tests in this section, you must operate the DRB-II to reach the AW-4 MENU level within the diagnostic testing program. At the AW-4 MENU, you can read DRB-II faults and perform diagnostic test functions.

The AW-4 MENU provides a choice of several different categories of test functions as described below.

- System Tests - This function enables the Technician to test the functioning of the shift lever and solenoids.

- Read Faults - This function enables the Technician to read faults.

- State Display - This function enables the Technician to read the states or values of a variety of sensors, inputs/outputs, and components.

- Actuator Tests - This test function option is not available for AW-4 transmission system diagnostics.

- Adjustments - This test function option is not available for AW-4 transmission system diagnostics.

NOTES:

AW-4 transmission testing functions include a system test and state displays.

The data necessary for transmission testing is provided through a data stream issued from the Transmission Control Unit (TCU). As with engine testing, the key must be ON for the TCU to transmit data.
