D. Reinstall Radiator and Grille

1. Arm mechanical air bag (if equipped).

A. From outside the vehicle, reach through the driver's window and turn the arming screw clockwise until the head of the screw is below the surface of the steering wheel back cover hole. Do NOT use power driven tools. Torque the arming screw to 25 in-lbs (3 N.m) (Figs. 6 and 7).

B. Install the arming screw cap into the steering wheel back cover (Fig. 5).

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.

3. Install the right (drivers side) front fender splash shield.

4. Install the front lower splash shield and front axle skid plate (if equipped).

5. Lower vehicle.

6. Install the auxiliary transmission oil cooler (if equipped).

7. Carefully position the radiator in its proper location. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines on the right (drivers side) of the radiator (if equipped). Install the mechanical fan shroud (if equipped).

8. Install the front GOP and the attached wiring harness. Install the 7 mm bolt on the bottom center of the GOP from the bottom.

9. Install the air cleaner housing, filter, and air cleaner cover.

10. Install the fog lamps (if equipped).

11. Install the front marker lamps, parking lamps, headlamp bezels and connect temperature sensor wire (if equipped).

12. Install the fan assembly.

13. Install the power steering reservoir on models equipped with the 2.5L engine.

14. Install the upper radiator support cross member (Fig 1). Align the scribe marks to keep clearance between the hood and the Grill Opening Panel (GOP) the same. Install nuts on GOP to upper support bracket (Fig. 2).

15. Install overflow reservoir cap (if equipped) and insure radiator cap is tight. Connect the overflow tube to the radiator if required.

16. Connect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector.

17. Install the battery tray and battery.

18. Check and adjust the transmission fluid, the coolant, and the power steering fluid levels as necessary.

19. Start the vehicle and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock three times on dry pavement to remove air from the power steering system.

20. Center the steering wheel using an alignment rack.

21. Re-torque the steering gear bolts to 95 N.m (70 ft. lbs.).
