With Automatic Transmission

Crankshaft Position Sensor (Typical):




REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect sensor electrical connector, located near rear of intake manifold.
3. Remove nut holding sensor wiring clip to fuel rail.
4. Remove sensor mounting bolt(s) or nuts.
5. Remove the sensor from vehicle.
6. Remove clip from sensor wiring harness.


INSTALLATION
1. Be sure the paper spacer is installed on bottom of new sensor.

NOTE: If original sensor is being reinstalled, clean bottom of sensor before installation. Obtain a new paper spacer and install on sensor. If spacer is not installed, sensor will be damaged when engine is started.

2. Position camshaft position sensor in transmission housing and install mounting bolt finger tight.
3. Gently push down on sensor until paper spacer contacts the outer edge of flywheel.
4. Torque sensor mounting bolt to 6-to-8 Nm (50-to-70 in. lbs.).
5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
6. Install clip on sensor wire.
7. Install clip over fuel rail stud and tighten mounting nut.
