Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from switch and remove switch from transmission. Allow transmission fluid to drain into a suitable container.
4. Move selector lever to Park and Neutral positions. Check switch operating fingers for proper operation.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new seal on switch.
b. Torque switch to 25 ft. lbs.
c. Add transmission fluid as necessary.
