Audible Warning Device Control Module: Testing and Inspection
Testing1. Check the fuse(s) in the fuseblock module.
If OK, go to step 2
If not OK, replace the faulty fuse(s).
2. Check for battery voltage at the hot at all times fuse in the fuse block module.
If OK, go to step 3.
If not OK repair the open circuit from the power distribution center as required.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Check for battery voltage at the hot in run and start fuse in the fuseblock module.
If OK, go to Step 4.
If not OK, repair the open circuit from the ignition switch as required.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Replace the buzzer module with a know good unit and test it's operation.
If OK, discard the faulty buzzer module.
If not OK, remove the buzzer module and go to step 5.
5. Check for battery voltage at the fused B(+) circuit cavity of the buzzer module connector.
If OK, go to step 6.
If not OK, repair the open circuit to the fuseblock module as required.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Check for battery voltage at the fused ignition switch output circuit cavity of the buzzer module connector.
If OK, go to step 7.
If not OK, repair the open circuit to the fuseblock module as required.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Check for continuity between the ground circuit cavity of the buzzer module connector and a good ground. There should be continuity.
If OK, go to the diagnosis for the switch that is related to the buzzing sound.
If not OK, repair the circuit to ground as required.
