Windshield Washer Switch: Testing and Inspection
FrontPerform the diagnosis for the wiper and/or washer systems as described before testing the wiper/washer switch.
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR-BAGS, REFER TO AIRBAGS AND SEATBELTS/AIRBAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIR-BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Unplug the windshield wiper/washer switch connector as described.
Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch Continuity:
3. Using an ohmmeter, perform the switch continuity checks at the switch terminals as shown in the chart.
4. If the switch fails any of the continuity checks, replace the faulty switch.
Rear
Perform the diagnosis for the rear wiper and/or washer systems as described before testing the rear wiper/washer switch.

Rear Wiper/Washer Switch Continuity:
2. Using an ohmmeter, check the switch continuity at the switch terminals as shown in the chart.
3. If the switch fails any of the continuity checks, replace the faulty switch.
