System Specifications

CYLINDER HEAD BOLT TORQUE/TIGHTENING SEQUENCE:




Left Side Cylinder Head




Right Side Cylinder Head


Tighten the bolts in sequence using the following steps and torque values:
- Step 1: Tighten bolts 1 - 10 to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
- Step 2: Tighten bolts 1 - 10 to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
Tighten bolts 11 - 14 to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
- Step 3: Tighten bolts 1 - 10 an additional 90 °.
Tighten bolts 11 - 14 to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

CYLINDER HEAD SURFACE VARIATION:

Inspect the cylinder head for out-of-flatness, using a straightedge and a feeler gauge. If tolerances exceed 0.0508 mm (0.002 inch) replace the cylinder head.

CYLINDER HEAD BOLT RE-USABILITY:

The Cylinder head bolts should be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down, the bolts should be replaced. Necking can be checked by holding a scale or straight edge against the threads. If all the threads do not contact the scale the bolt should be replaced.

CAMSHAFT GEAR/SPROCKET SPECIFICATIONS:

Camshaft Sprocket Bolt 90 ft. lbs.

CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP TORQUE/SEQUENCE:

Camshaft Bearing Caps - Left Side:

Camshaft Bearing Caps - Right Side:





Right Side Camshaft

Working in 1/2 turn increments, tighten the bearing cap retaining bolts starting with the middle bolts and working outward.

Bearing Cap Bolt Torque 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.)

INTAKE MANIFOLD BOLT TORQUE/SEQUENCE:






Tighten intake manifold retaining bolts in sequence shown to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).

Throttle Body Mounting Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD SPECIFICATIONS:

Exhaust Manifold Bolts/Nuts 18 ft. lbs.
Heat Shield Fasteners 72 in. lbs.
