Panel/Demist Door
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR-BAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIR-BAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURYREMOVAL
1. Remove the HVAC housing.
2. Remove the defrost and panel/demist door actuators.
3. Disassemble the HVAC housing.
Panel Door Lever - Typical:
4. Insert a screwdriver into the latch hole of the panel/demist door pivot shaft to release the latch of the panel door lever.
5. Remove the panel door lever located on the outside of the lower half of the HVAC housing from the pivot shaft.
Panel/Demist And Defrost Doors - Typical:
6. Reach inside the lower half of the HVAC housing and lift out the panel/demist door.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the panel/demist door inside the lower half of the HVAC housing.
2. Install the panel lever onto the pivot shaft of the panel door in the lower half of the HVAC housing.
3. Assemble the HVAC housing.
4. Install the panel/demist and defrost door actuators.
5. Install the HVAC housing.
