Fuel Tank Module

Fuel Tank Module Location-Diesel:

The fuel tank module (2) is installed in the top of the fuel tank.
The fuel tank module contains the following components:
- Fuel reservoir
- A separate in-tank fuel filter
- Fuel gauge sending unit (fuel level sensor)
- A special lockring (1) to retain module to fuel tank
- Fuel supply line connections
- Fuel return line connections
A separate electric fuel pump (sometimes referred to as a low-pressure fuel transfer or lift pump) is not attached to the fuel tank module. Instead, a gear supply pump is mounted to the rear of the high-pressure fuel injection pump. This supply pump draws fuel under a vacuum; through the fuel filter; and from the fuel tank.
