Rear Door: Service and Repair

DOOR

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the rear door wire harness connector from the body wire harness.
3. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the location of the rear door hinges (2 and 3) on the B-pillar.
4. Support the rear door with a suitable lifting device and remove the five bolts (1 and 4) that secure the rear door hinges to the B-pillar.
5. Carefully remove the door from the body.
6. If required, remove the rear door hinges from the door.

INSTALLATION




1. If removed, install the rear door hinges (2 and 3) onto the door.
2. Carefully position the rear door to the body and support the door with a suitable lifting device.
3. Loosely install the five bolts (1 and 4) that secure the rear door hinges to the B-pillar.
4. Align the rear door to the body using the reference marks made during the removal procedure and tighten the bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft.lbs).
5. Connect the rear door wire harness to the body wire harness.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. If necessary, adjust the rear door.
